Online Graphing Tools

I had some difficulty in completing this assignment as it required me to learn to use the Kids zone chart feature and to add the charts into a word document. I added my documents onto my google docs page.

I used this link to NAEP numbers to get the numbers for my charts. I used Kids zone at this link to make my charts.

I believe that this graphing assignment supports the second ISTE NETS T standard the most. The core of the standard is for teachers to design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessment incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning.

Word Cloud Assignment

I used my favorite line from Dr. Martin Luther King's "I have a dream" speech for this assignment. I was able to complete this assignment without much difficulty at all.

I believe that this Word Cloud assignment supports the third ISTE NETS T standard the most. Section C states that teachers should communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students, parents, and peers using a variety of digital-age media and formats.

I believe that Google Profile supports the third ISTE NETS T standard the most. The core of the standard is for teachers to show proficiency in using technology to support education. By creating a lecture electronically, I showed proficiency in using technology.

Jing Image

I created a graphic that shows the Diigolet toolbar in my browser. I used an arrow and text box to show the program title, I highlighted the "Highlight" option, and I drew a box around the "Comment" option. With this graphic I can explain the use of the Diigo program to someone who is not familiar with its use.

By learning to take images, a teacher gains the ability to use resources to aid in learning.

Self Portrait Assignment

I do not have that much talent in terms of portrait art so I tried the majority of the selections on the site to find a combination that suited me. I also had to enlarge and rotate many of the options. I settled for something conservative because that is how I present myself.

Snipping Tool Assignment

I am using this assignment to show the need to keep your files in a central location in case they need to be retrieved easily. As I completed the first round of assignments from my classes this semester, I realized that I was saving papers in a variety of locations based upon defaults in text editors. I right clicked the location I wanted the papers to be saved, clicked on "new folder", and began to move all my files into this folder. By staying proactive on file location, I won't have trouble in the future of many files in many locations.
